FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of our most frequently answered Logo Design & Branding Services questions.

How long does a logo design take?

Branding projects typically take 2–3 weeks from start to finish, depending on my current workload, which will be confirmed before any payment. Timelines may also vary based on your response time and any requested design revisions.

What do I get? What all is included in a Branding Package?

Once your Branding design is completed, we will provide a comprehensive file kit to ensure you can use your logo across various mediums. Below is a summary of what we will deliver:

  • CMYK Version – This is the full-color version of your logo, using the four printing colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. This format is essential for printed materials with full-color images. Provided in vector formats (Ai/PDF/EPS).

  • Pure Black Version – This version is a solid black logo, perfect for black-and-white or single-color documents. Provided in vector formats (Ai/PDF/EPS).

  • Pure White Knockout – Ideal for placing your logo over dark backgrounds or images, this white version enhances visibility. Provided in vector formats (Ai/PDF/EPS).

  • RGB Version – Used for digital displays, the RGB format mixes Red, Green, and Blue light to create colors. We will provide your logo as an optimized JPEG file, transparent PNG, and SVG (vector format for digital use).

  • Favicon – A small favicon version of your logo, perfect for your website.

  • Copyright Ownership – We will transfer copyright ownership of the final agreed logo to you.

  • PDF User Guideline Document – A document outlining how to properly use the logo files.

  • Font Files – A copy of all font files used in the your logo
How many logos do I get?

Based on our initial design meeting, you’ll receive three logo concepts to choose from. We’ll then refine your preferred option into the final design. Once complete, you’ll get multiple logo file versions in various sizes and colors—ready for any future use.

What if I want to make a change to a logo?

No problem!

When we present the initial design concepts, we’ll walk you through the reasoning behind each choice. You’ll then have the chance to share your feedback and request any changes you’d like.

You’re welcome to request as many edits as needed, though the project includes up to four rounds of revisions. If additional rounds are required, they’ll be billed hourly and added to your final invoice.

Do I own the Copyright & Trademark?

Once the logo design project is complete and payment has been received, full copyright for the final approved logo is automatically transferred to you. If needed, we’re happy to provide a copyright transfer document for your peace of mind.

Copyright gives the holder the exclusive right to reproduce, display, and distribute the design. These rights are transferred to you, allowing you full control over how your logo is used. We simply ask for permission to showcase the final design in our portfolio as an example of our work.

Trademark registration, however, is a separate process. It must be handled by a trademark attorney or completed directly through the official government website. If this is something you’d like to pursue, we can refer you to a trusted company we regularly work with.

Registering your logo as a trademark allows you to use the ® symbol and offers legal protection against similar marks in the regions and categories where it’s registered. If you plan to register the trademark, let us know—we can include a version of the logo featuring the ® symbol in your final file set for use after registration is approved.

Want to learn more? We’ve recorded an interview with a Trademark Attorney that covers copyright and trademark law. While it’s U.S.-focused and tailored for designers, it’s still a great resource for anyone looking to better understand the topic.

What if I don’t like the first set of logos at all?

We’ll start with a call to identify what’s not working, understand why, and determine the best direction to move the project forward together.

It’s important to note that the designs we present are based on goals we’ll have already agreed upon before the design phase begins. These goals include insights into your business, competitors, target audience, and any specific requirements you’ve shared—making this kind of situation unlikely.

Our design decisions are guided by strategy. When we present concepts, we’ll explain the thinking behind them, ensuring they align with your business objectives—not just personal preferences. A logo is a strategic asset, and while it may not always match personal taste, it should be crafted to perform for your brand.

Throughout the project, we’ll work closely with you to ensure the final design meets all agreed goals, including any specific requests made at the start.

While it’s rare, if after collaborative revisions you’re still unhappy with the outcome, you’re not required to pay the remaining 50%. We do take a 50% deposit upfront, which is non-refundable. In this case, we retain ownership of all concepts, designs, and work created during the process.
